Sitecore Send is a marketing automation platform backed by data insights and AI. It’s the messaging part of the Composable DXP.

Its latest update offers Audience Discovery. Created for ecommerce and marketers, it's a next level, smart addition that allows marketers to deliver more relevant and highly personalised email campaign messages.

How does Audience Discovery work?

In essence it discovers audiences. It does this by using powerful AI algorithms, filters, commerce tools and machine learning. Audience Discovery segments your website visitors based on:

1. Those interested in specific product categories or brands

2. Visitors that are likely to buy

3. The funnel stage somebody is in based on website interactions

Let's assume you sell footwear. Person A visits your website and is interested in your latest range of hiking boots. Audience Discovery uses Person A's browsing behaviour to include them in your next hiking boot email campaign. This would be a highly personalised experience with the potential of increasing sales opportunities.

If your website is already connected to Sitecore Send, then you're already tracking your visitors’ interactions with your products or services. This means that you can be up and running in no time with Audience Discovery, and can use it in two different ways:

• AI coloured tags:  Audience Discovery uses visual cues in the form of AI coloured tags. Shown next to a contact in your email list, the coloured tags represent the three segmentation criteria above

• New segmentation criteria (rules):  AI tags are turned into segmentation criteria which allows you to define and create email list subsets for hyper personalised email campaigns
