Part of a wider digital customer engagement project, the new platform will help to improve satisfaction with digital information and services, contribute to growth in visitation to parks and waterways, and enhance the audience’s physical and online experience of parks and waterways. Parks Victoria also hope the initiative will grow community engagement and advocacy, increase revenue and business efficiencies, and scale education involvement.
Having chosen the Sitecore Experience Platform for the new website, due to its advanced personalisation capabilities that allows brands to deliver relevant, connected digital experiences across multiple customer touch-points, Parks Victoria is already underway with a new, fresh design that will be revealed in 2019 – and has named experienced Sitecore partner Codehouse as the digital agency to undertake development, selected after a competitive pitch.
Codehouse will work to improve the audience experience when planning a park visit, enhance the audience experience of a park visit, re-engage visitors through personalised, meaningful content, and better support partners to transact with and scale the efforts of Parks Victoria.
Lisa Patroni, Executive Director, Marketing Communications and Partnerships at Parks Victoria, said: “As the caretaker of some of the world’s most varied and dramatic landscapes, Parks Victoria is uniquely positioned to use digital channels to transform how audiences engage with our parks and nature. In today’s world, most people start their journey by going online and checking a website – even if they’re planning a trip outdoors. It is therefore vital, as we continue our mission to connect people and parks, provide health and well-being benefits beyond park boundaries, and continuously improve the delivery of our services, that we provide our visitors with an online experience that is second-to-none.”
"To help us achieve our ambitions, we were looking for a digital agency with vast experience of developing websites on Sitecore. Codehouse impressed us with their expertise, as well as their pragmatic approach to delivering a new website in an iterative manner. Their commitment to the success of the project is clearly evident.
Our digital experience team concluded, “Contact with nature is absolutely critical for our physical, mental, social and spiritual health. Following Parks Victoria’s customer-centric digital-first strategy, we’re very excited to start work on bringing the communities, the beauty, and the health and wellbeing benefits of Victoria’s nature and special places to life online, and so provide visitors with a digital experience that will keep them returning again and again.”
With a built asset portfolio that has an estimated replacement value of $1.8 billion, Parks Victoria manages 4.1 million hectares, including national parks, marine parks and sanctuaries, wilderness areas, state and metropolitan parks, thousands of Aboriginal cultural places, and around 70 percent of Victoria's coast. Highly valued by the community, Victoria’s parks provide open space, stunning landscapes, habitats to protect flora and fauna and areas to conserve cultural heritage, providing benefits that flow beyond park boundaries to contribute to Victoria’s health, well-being, liveability and economy.
